China's production of fused alumina boosted 16.86% YoY in 2025

Apr. 16, 2026 - In 2025, China's production of brown fused alumina (BFA) and white fused alumina (WFA) saw significant growth.
According to incomplete statistics from the Abrasives and Grinding Tools Branch of the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association, China's output of BFA and WFA in 2025 totalled 2.01 million tons, an increase of 290,000 tons compared with the previous year, with a year-on-year growth rate of 16.86%.
Among them, the output of BFA was approximately 1 million tons in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 13%. Specifically, Henan produced 440,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 190,000 tons; Guizhou produced 230,000 tons, an increase of 80,000 tons; Shanxi produced 140,000 tons, a decrease of 30,000 tons; Chongqing produced 150,000 tons, a decrease of 100,000 tons; and Guangxi produced 40,000 tons, a decrease of 30,000 tons.
In 2025, China's output of WFA was approximately 1.01 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 21%. Specifically, Henan produced 590,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 130,000 tons; and Shandong produced 420,000 tons, an increase of 50,000 tons.
