China's output of black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide in H1 2025

Sep. 3, 2025 - In the first half of 2025, China's output of black silicon carbide (B-SiC) slightly increased when compared with the same period of the previous year; while the output of green silicon carbide (G-SiC) showed a year-on-year decline trend.
According to the data from the Abrasives Branch of China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association (CMTBA), China's output of B-SiC reached approximately 520,000 tons in the first half year, an increase of 5,000 tons compared with the same period last year, representing a year-on-year growth of 1%, among which the output in Gansu was 315,000 tons (+5% YoY), that in Ningxia was 165,000 tons (+26.92% YoY), and that in Inner Mongolia and Qinghai was 40,000 tons, a significant decrease of 45,000 tons compared with the same period last year.
From January to June 2025, China's output of G-SiC was approximately 40,000 tons, a decline of 11% year-on-year, of which 30,000 tons was produced in Xinjiang and 10,000 tons was produced in Sichuan and Inner Mongolia, both showing a significant downward trend.
