Release Time:2025-08-08  Browsing Volume:467

Aug. 7, 2025 - In the first half of this year, the total export quantity of silicon carbide from China was approximately 164,700 tons, a slight increase of 1.17% compared with 162,800 tons in the same period last year. Among them, the monthly exports in the first quarter were all below 30,000 tons, and that in the second quarter was all above 30,000 tons. In June, exports reached 31,000 tons, increasing slightly by 0.97% year-on-year, which was basically consistent with the trend in the first half of the year. In May, exports reached 34,000 tons, up 51.37% year-on-year, recording the largest increase among the six months. In February, 14,000 tons were exported, which was the lowest quantity. The exports showed negative growth in both January and February. The following chart shows the export quanity of each month and the year-on-year changes.

From January to June, the cumulative export value of silicon carbide in China was 149.2638 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 11.5% compared with 168.6575 million US dollars in the same period of the previous year. Among them, the export value in June was 25.2853 million US dollars, a year-on-year decline of 10.3%. The export value achieved growth in both April and May, with year-on-year growth rates of 6.83% and 14.93% respectively. From January to March, all months showed a year-on-year decline trend, with the largest decline of 37.08% in January. The following chart shows the export value of each month and the year-on-year changes.

In the first half of this year, although the export quantity of silicon carbide from China increased slightly, the average export price almost showed a downward trend across the board due to the decline in export value, with an average decrease of 10.38%. Among them, the average export price in May dropped the most by 24.08%, followed by March with a year-on-year decline of 19.15%, January with a year-on-year decline of 12.98%, June with a year-on-year decline of 11.16%, and April with a slight decrease of 0.99%. Only February saw growth, with an increase of 6.1%. The following chart shows the average export prices of each month and the year-on-year changes:

From the data in the charts above, we can find that in May, when the export quantity increased the most, the average export price dropped the most instead. However, February, which had the lowest export quantity and the second-largest year-on-year decline, became the only month when the average export price increased. In the current situation where anti-dumping measures frequently occur in the international market, the predicament of China's silicon carbide exports increasing but prices decreasing deserves the attention of export enterprises.
