May 29, 2025 - World Bank-funded RN10 rehabilitation enhances logistics for Evion's Maniry Graphite Project.
The launch of the RN10 national highway rehabilitation project in Madagascar, backed by a US$400 million World Bank investment, is set to significantly benefit Evion Group’s Maniry Graphite Project. This initiative, part of the ‘Connecting Madagascar for Inclusive Growth’ program, involves upgrading the 416km highway connecting Andranovory to Ambovombe, passing directly through Ampanihy, the regional hub closest to Evion’s graphite operation. The construction, expected to last three years, will establish a critical corridor across the Atsimo-Andrefana and Androy regions, historically underdeveloped areas.
The RN10 rehabilitation includes a 7m-wide carriageway, new bridges, and a layered pavement structure. Evion anticipates that this project will substantially improve the logistics for the Maniry Graphite Project and align with European Union infrastructure and development goals, supporting their EU grant application. The RN10 development is part of a broader transport initiative that also includes the EU-funded Kiembe Boulevard in Toliara, designed to enhance freight access to port infrastructure. Evion believes the highway will unlock economic growth and position the southern region for greater participation in global supply chains for critical raw materials.
